Practice manager or MLRO in accountancy and professional services
Client onboarding and AML checks
Taking a new client from first contact to a complete, defensible due-diligence file.
How it runs today
Every new client needs identity, ownership and risk assessment recorded before work starts, and the obligation is not optional.
Most of it is gathering documents from someone who is busy, reading them, and writing down what they show.
The file has to stand up years later to somebody who was not there. In practice, quality depends on how distracted the person doing it was that week.
What we run
Not a tool you operate. This is the work, done, to a standard agreed in writing before the build starts.
- Entity and ownership structure resolved from Companies House, including persons with significant control
- Regulated status confirmed against the FCA Register where relevant
- Identity and address documents collected, read, and checked for consistency against what the client told you
- A written risk assessment assembled in your format, with the evidence attached to each conclusion
What we report
Agreed with you before the build, measured during the diagnostic so there is a baseline to compare against, then reported every month.
- Cost per client onboarded
- Cycle time from engagement letter to complete file
- Proportion of files completed without a human touching the case
- Exception rate, split by what triggered it
- Files passing internal review first time
What it connects to
- Companies House — open, free
- FCA Register — open, free
- Your practice management system and document store
- Sanctions and PEP screening — a paid third-party feed, priced through at cost
What we don't do
- We do not make the accept-or-decline decision, and we do not sign the risk assessment. Those are the MLRO's, and the file is built so that decision is defensible.
- Sanctions and PEP screening requires a commercial data feed. We do not pretend a free source is equivalent.
Is this the one costing you the most?
A diagnostic is £2,000–£5,000 and takes about a week. It measures what this workflow costs you today — which is the number the pilot gets judged against.
